NASCAR Foundation Track Walks

  It's Free!
Why subscribe?

The NASCAR Foundation Track Walks give fans the unique opportunity to walk a lap around some of the most famous race tracks in the NASCAR circuit. Not only do walkers experience the track from a different perspective and enjoy the sights and sounds from the racing surface, they also benefit very worthy causes through fundraising.

A Track Walk is a great event for friends and family members looking for entertainment at the track between race activities. Event participants enjoy a kick-off celebration prior to entering the track for their one-lap trek.  Track Walk participants have the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the charitable causes supported by the NASCAR Foundation, using online fundraising tools and other fundraising resources.

The Foundation

The NASCAR Foundation embodies the compassion of the NASCAR family and their commitment to serving communities. The foundation supports a wide range of charitable initiatives that reflect the core values of the entire NASCAR family, using the strength of the sport and its people to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

In addition to the walks, the foundation has online auctions and a vehicle donation program, with proceeds going to charity, as well as blood drives at race weekends.  The foundation helps assist a number of charities, including several that fulfill wishes of patients with

life-threatening illnesses, coordinating more than 10,000 wishes a year, many involving drivers who participate in NASCAR-sanctioned events.

The Schedule

Track walks have already taken place at Las Vegas and Texas Motor Speedways.  The remaining walks include:

  • May 31 – Dover International Speedway

  • June 28 – New Hampshire Motor Speedway

  • August 23 – Bristol Motor Speedway

  • Oct. 11 – Lowe’s Motor Speedway

  • Oct. 25 – Atlanta Motor Speedway

Teamwork

Teams for the walk can be made up of family members, co-workers, driver fan clubs and friends.  Participants meet at a designated starting location and a green flag is waved to officially start the walk.  Participants walk one lap around the track, with distances ranging from about a half a mile to

one and a half miles, depending on the track.

Online fundraising campaigns are available with prize incentives, as well as opportunities to create personalized web pages and e-mail blasts to help solicit donations. Any Track Walk “Crew Chief” who starts a team and recruits at least nine additional team members will be rewarded with a VIP package.

Event fee is $30 per person with online registration and $35 per person with at-track registration. Children under 14 may walk for free with a paid adult. Visit www.nascar.com/foundation to register or call 704-348-9680.
