Gary Gator, The Tailgater
Gary Gator, The
Tailgater, is the official mascot of
TheTailgater.com. He is the heart and soul of the webzine,
epitomizing all that is good about tailgating – always looking for a
great party, enjoying meeting new friends in the parking lot,
welcoming tailgaters from other teams into his tailgate.
Gary graduated from
Tailgate University with a degree in Barbeque, where he was known
around campus as The Big Green Griller. Throughout the year, Gary
visits tailgates all over the country, meeting and greeting

Mark Dau
Editor-In Chief Mark comes
to The Tailgater with 20 years of writing, television and
film production experience. From producing live satellite
broadcasts to humorous short films, Mark has worked in most every
major city in the United States. As editor-in chief of
The Tailgater, Mark brings together all the elements of each
issue. Mark is married to his best friend and Recipes Editor
Susan and has two young tailgaters. He holds a BA in Broadcast
Communications from Montclair State University |

Dau
Recipes Editor
Susan Dau loves to bake! Be it her famous chocolate chip pan cookie
creations or other culinary delights, Susan is well known for her
creativity and wonderful presentation. As the new Recipes editor,
Susan brings taste and style to the team as she selects the various
recipes for each issue. A world traveler, Susan has been all over
Europe enjoying regional foods and flavors. After studying abroad
in Paris, she completed her studies earning a degree in Business
Management from Hofstra University. Susan is married to
TheTailgater editor Mark and together they are raising two
beautiful children. |

Mike Martin
CFO/Marketing
Mike is a lifelong resident of New Jersey. Retired after 30 years
with AT&T, Mike held various jobs in consumer marketing, customer
service and public relations. A graduate of St. Francis College with
a degree in English, Mike now works in the publishing
industry
and keeps track of the business and marketing side of
TheTailgater.com. |

Joe
Drozda
Columnist The author of
The Tailgater’s Handbook (1996 Master’s Press), Joe graduated in
1970 from Indiana University with a degree in Marketing. Considered
the father of college tailgating, Joe has rated tailgaters for
Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, the Wall Street Journal and many
others. He has appeared on every major television network, appearing
on many local and national programs. Tailgating regularly at his
almamater, Joe has written dozens of articles on tailgating as well
as other topics ranging from management to college fund-raising. Be

Chris Warner
Columnist Chris Warner is
a freelance writer who lives with his wife and family in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana. He is the author of the SEC Sports History and
Tradition Collection, a three-book series chronicling the many
colorful histories and traditions of each of the Southeastern
Conference schools. Chris is also the author of the

Bobby
Hurte
Columnist Bobby is a HUGE
fan of Pittsburgh sports teams. So much so that he attended the
Pittsburgh Pirates Dream Week camp in 1992 and pitched to some
all-time great Pirates. Bobby is a member of the Society for
American Baseball Research (SABR) and is an avid league softball
player. Additionally, he has completed 14 marathons to date,
claiming he needs to stay in shape for his beer drinking research.
Bobby also has a passion for history, specifically the Civil War and
U.S. Presidents. He and wife Barbara have been married blissfully
for eleven years and have been blessed with the good fortune of
sharing their lives with their three delightful children: Matthew,
Tegan, and Samuel. Bobby has a BS in Business Management from the
University of Phoenix. |

Joanne Price
Southeastern Correspondent
Joanne is a former NFL Cheerleader for the New York Jets and a
serious tailgating fan! As the Southeastern Correspondent for
The Tailgater, Joanne’s beat covers tailgating through the
southeastern United States. In addition, her passion for the game
of football has brought her to become a writer for the CBS
SportsLine NY Jets Club featured on America On Line. Her column,
“Jo’s Journal,” appears bi-weekly. Joanne enjoys boating with her
husband Jim and their children Steven and Lauren. She also assists
in the fundraising efforts of the United Way, the American Cancer
Society and the Space Coast Early Intervention Center in Melbourne,
Florida, a school for children with physical and learning
disabilities.

Deb McGregor
Editor / Staff Writer Deb has been
with The Tailgater team from its onset, editing and writing
stories, as well as shooting photos whenever she attends a tailgate
event. When she's not editing (or, as she puts it "slashing") copy
for The Tailgater, she's slashing copy for Lucent
Technologies as a public relations manager. Prior to Lucent, Deb
was a sports reporter for several New Jersey newspapers. Deb has a
degree in Journalism from Rowan University. She also has a teenage
son who has occasionally appeared in The Tailgater photos. |

West Coast Bureau Chief
Jay DiEugenio is
The Tailgate Guy, a lifestyle expert on one of the hottest
trends in sports and recreation. Having tailgated at every
stadium in the NFL, as well as numerous colleges, racetracks, and
even a Hollywood game show, Jay has friends in parking lots across
the country. He’s appeared on television and radio, has been
featured in numerous newspaper and magazine articles, and would love

Ambassador to the Blacktop” and has two tailgating cookbooks to his
